How does a faithwalking experience work?
Faithwalking has three component pieces: an extended weekend retreat; a 12 week follow up seminar; and an ongoing training/coaching experience.
The Retreat - Faithwalking 101: Faithwalking is a journey held during a three day retreat experience. In the retreat, participants are exposed to the basic principles of transformation. Transformation is distinguished from change, and a new way (actually a very old way) of thinking about church is presented. By the end of the retreat, each participant is challenged to make a Faith Declaration.
A Faith Declaration is a commitment the participant makes to return home to begin serving as a catalyst who mobilizes the Body of Christ in his/her homes, neighborhoods, workplaces and 3rd places:
The 10 Week Seminar - Faithwalking 201: Serving as a catalyst to mobilize the Body of Christ in the home, neighborhood, work place or 3rd place is a challenging assignment in today's western culture. Armed with the knowledge of what a catalyst does, the participant completes weekly assignments that are designed to get a working leadership team in place. This team is made up of the Faithwalking participant and other believers who agree to share in the process of mobilizing the Body of Christ.
Ongoing Coaching/Training: At the conclusion of the seminar, a certified Faithwalking Coach, is available to the Faithwalking participant. This coach is a fellow Faithwalker who will come along side the Faithwalking participant for prayer, problem solving, training, and encouragement. Periodically, citywide training events are offered to Faithwalking participants and their teams.
